He is one of the front runners with bookmakers to take the trophy in Lisbon and will now take to the stage at the prestige Café de Paris on Thursday 5th April – We are delighted to confirm the Czech Republic’s Mikolas Josef as the next confirmed act for the 2018 London Eurovision Party!
The singer/songwriter ended a four year modelling career in 2015 to pursue a professional music career which saw him release debut single ‘Hands Bloody” later that year. In 2016 his follow up single ‘Free’ became a top twenty hit in the Czech Republic and was followed by third single ‘Believe (Hey Hey)’.
Eurovision – a year later than planned
Josef was approached to represent the country at last year’s contest in Kyiv with ‘My Turn’ but turned down the offer as he did not feel the song suited his style and music direction. Earlier this year, he entered the Czech national selection and was victorious with the cheeky pop number ‘Lie To Me’.
The song has become an instant hit with the Eurovision community which has resulted in bookmakers slashing odds on a Czech victory in May.
Eight acts confirmed with more still to come!
Mikolas Josef from the Czech Republic is the latest addition to the line up, alongside Michael Schulte from Germany who was announced earlier this week. Previously announced acts are:
- Michael Schulte (Germany)
- SuRie (United Kingdom) – Headline act
- Alfred and Amaia (Spain)
